Today's scarf reminds me of the classic seafoam Crest toothpaste. How fitting on a day when I had to go for a cleaning at the dentist!

Day 153, Scarf 153: Bejeweled

This sparkly blue and purple scarf makes me think of jewels. It was knitted in the car on the way to (and on the way back from) getting Thai food for dinner. Yum!

Day 152, Scarf 152: Beatlesong Euphoria

Well, I managed to knit this scarf in advance so that I wouldn't have to knit it on the evening of my concert. The theme of the Spring Concert was The Beatles! It was an amazing night of celebration, song, and community. The gymnasium was so packed that we actually had people sitting on the floor! I think the highlight for me was when I decided, partway through conducting "Yellow Submarine", to turn around to the audience and get them to join in with my ukulele ensemble in singing! It was a fantastic night that was made even better by the fact that my husband and parents came to watch.

Day 151, Scarf 151: 5 Month Milestone

It's hard to believe I am nearly halfway now! It has been very difficult getting scarves done over the past few weeks as I was preparing for my students' Spring music concert which will happen tomorrow. Once the concert is over, I think it will be a lot easier to get ahead!

Day 146, Scarf 146: Blood Orange

This deep orange scarf made me think of my friend Marnie's blood orange cake...yummy.

I'll be up at the cabin in Oroville, Washington for the Victoria Day long weekend but don't worry, I've packed a bag of yarn!

Day 145, Scarf 145: Silver Lining

Today's scarf was knitted after what started out as a sort of gloomy day at work. By the end of the day I saw the silver lining in my blue day, the kids and their passion for music. I am so lucky to teach such wonderful students. "Silver Lining" is made with blue yarn that has a stripe of silver in it.

Day 144, Scarf 144: Starting to feel like a smurf

Today's scarf was knitted with, you guessed it, more blue yarn! It will be interesting to see how many blue scarves I end up knitting for this project. There were a variety of blues today ranging from whitish-blue to electric blue. Thank you to Auntie Lilian for the donation!

Day 143, Scarf 143: Lack of Time Blues

This blue scarf was knitting in what little time I have between rehearsals with my Junior, Senior and Jazz Choirs. Today I had no recess, no lunch, not even a bathroom break! I can't wait for our school concert so that things can slow down a bit!

Day 142, Scarf 142: The Drive to Whistler and Back

As it's name suggests, this scarf was knitted on a drive up to Whistler. On Sunday morning Max decided that we needed to have breakfast in Whistler! We got in the car and drove, knitting stuff in tote, and took in the beautiful blue sunny skies and scenery along the way. I chose the blues and yellows to represent the sun and sky. We had a lovely breakfast, strolled around the village, and headed back to Vancouver. It was a lovely way to spend the morning!

Day 141, Scarf 141: Shades of Fire

This scarf was knitted with several shades of red and orange flowing from light to dark. It makes me think of the campfire we enjoyed at Sasamat.

Day 140, Scarf 140: Firey Sun

This burnt orange fuzzy scarf was knitted after a day in the grade 6 classroom. I had all of my students working on decorations for our Beatles concert and a group of about 4 boys decided to make a huge orange sun in honour of "Here Comes the Sun". This scarf makes me think of their firey-looking sun.

Day 139, Scarf 139: Red and Gray

This red and gray scarf was made after an exhausting day back at work after returning from Camp Sasamat. Who knew that being out of the classroom for 3 days and getting a total of about 7 hours sleep over those three days would make a teacher so tired?

Day 138, Scarf 138: Home Sweet Home

After having very little sleep at camp, it was a joy to come home to my husband, Max. That night we sat and snuggled and I knitted this blue, white and gray scarf while watching an old episode of Top Gear. I'm so glad to be home.

Day 137, Scarf 137: Camp Sasamat #2

This silky blue and white scarf was also knitted at Camp Sasamat. I only managed to make it on one hike on this particular day but was so busy that I was up until midnight knitting in my cabin to get it done!

Day 136, Scarf 136: Camp Sasamat #1

This blue and brown scarf was knitted in the very little down time that I had while accompanying my Grade 6 students to Camp Sasamat. I managed to make it out on 3 hikes that day! The landscape is absolutely gorgeous and it didn't take much convincing for me to get out for each of the hikes.

Day 135, Scarf 135: Mother's Day

This scarf was knitted after having Mother's Day supper at my Mother-in-law Linda's place. There were a whole lot of moms present - my Mom, my grandma, Max's mom, Lexie, Christine, Mrs. West, Grandma Ruth, Andrea, Catherine, and I think there might have been a couple more that I am forgetting! Mom was the word today!

Day 134, Scarf 134: Sunny Strathcona

This yellow and white scarf was knitted after going on a lovely walk with our friends Shannon and Mike and their two dogs Charlie and Tucker in Strathcona. It was so sunny and warm that I was able to walk around in a tanktop and still feel warm! Today was a day when no one need to wear a scarf...but I knitted one!

Day 133, Scarf 133: Red, White, and Gray

This scarf feels oh so cozy to the touch with thick red, white and gray yarn. Red, White and Gray is going to keep someone very warm.

Day 132, Scarf 132: Orange Creamsicle

Well, it is what it sounds like - a white and orange scarf that makes your mouth water on a hot and sunny day! After I finished knitting this one I had two bowls full of coffee ice cream, it was the closest thing to creamsicles I could find in the freezer!

Day 131, Scarf 131: Keep on the Sunny Side

Today was a rough day of negotiations in the staffroom. We've been having meetings all week and finally it seems that things might start to settle. All the way through I've been trying to stay positive and "keep on the sunny side". Today's scarf is knitted with 2 balls of yellow yarn (the sunny part) and one ball of gray (the not so sunny part).

Day 130, Scarf 130: Unravel

Today's scarf was knitted with ruby red yarn that was donated by my friend Marnie's mom. It is called "Unravel" because I literally had to do this in order to use the yarn. All of the yarn had been beautifully knitted into these woven basket-like stitches - it hurt a little bit to have to undo the work of someone but I put it to good use!

Day 129, Scarf 129: Safe

Well, it's official, my job is not in jeopardy! I actually received a letter of apology for all of the stress that I was put through due to the "letter of contemplation" I was given in February. This scarf embodies the word safe as it is made with thick, silky and warm navy yarn that was donated by Sheryl MacKay. It is absolutely beautiful and it will be hard to give away!

Day 128, Scarf 128: It's a Girl!

Today's scarf was knitted while attending my friend Angela's baby shower. She hasn't had the baby yet but she knows that she is having a girl. As you can imagine, all of the gifts were pretty shades of pink (as is today's scarf!). I can't wait to meet Angela's baby!

Day 127, Scarf 127: CBC

I began today's scarf while sitting in the waiting area at CBC Radio. I chose to use burgundy and cream yarn to stand for the red and white of CBC's logo. Knitting in the waiting room helped to calm me down as I waited for Sheryl MacKay to interview me. I need not have been nervous, Sheryl made me feel completely comfortable and even donated some beautiful navy blue yarn! I'll let you know when my interview is going to air!
