Day 44, Scarf 44: Blushing Bamboo

Today's scarf was made with the beautiful pink bamboo yarn donated by Diana B. This scarf is smooth and soft to the touch, absolutely beautiful yarn! Diana found my posting about the Purls of Warmth project on Craigslist and was kind enough to donate a HUGE bag of yarn! I can't wait to knit all of it!

Thank you so much for your generosity Diana!

Day 43, Scarf 43: Damson in Distress

Thinking I would have loads of time to work on my knitting because it is Saturday, I started my day by choosing to use the thin, frilly, purple and pink yarn donated by my friend Angela. Well, after attending a SalsaFit Class, picking up a yarn donation from Diana B. (a HUGE bag I might add), having lunch with Max, going to the library, picking up my alterations, having a nap, and going out with friends, I find myself still knitting at 2am! I truly am a damsel in distress! Damson was the name of the yarn...the title kind of works, right? Cross your fingers that I'm able to get this one done and get some sleep!

Day 42, Scarf 42: Spumoni

The colours for today's scarf are green, pink, cream, and brown in honour of the delicious spumoni ice cream that you always get at the end of an Old Spaghetti Factory meal. I didn't go to the Old Spaghetti Factory today but for some reason spumoni ice cream was on my mind tonight...the lack of sugar must really be getting to me!

Day 41, Scarf 41: Good Day Sunshine

Today's scarf is a mix of blue and yellow to represent the beautiful blue and sunny skies we experienced in Vancouver today! What a nice change! "Good Day Sunshine" was chosen as this scarf's name because of my focus on the Beatles right now...I'm teaching elementary school music and am planning a HUGE Beatles concert!

Day 40, Scarf 40: Diva Cupcake

Can you tell I have sugar on my mind as I try to get off of sugar? The two shades of brown and bright pink yarn in this scarf made me think of the delicious "Diva" cupcakes sold at Vancouver's Cupcakes. Brown chocolate cupcake with bright pink icing...yum!!

Day 39, Scarf 39: Oscar Nominee

Well, today's colour choice was fairly obvious after I received this email from my dad:

"If you have any gold yarn, you could knit an Oscar scarf, in honour of District 9 making it to the top 3 nominees today…WOOOOOHOOOO!!

How could I refuse? I had a whole pile of yellow yarn (unfortunately no gold) and went for it! It sort of reminds me of Big Bird but it's an Oscar!

Day 38, Scarf 38: Blue

This scarf was knitted throughout the day and I managed to finish it before dinnertime! It is made with 3 balls of blue yarn that I had left at my parents' house several years ago. Finally all that blue yarn has been put to good use!
