Day 218, Scarf 218: Stormy Skies

After having a wonderful dinner in Oroville we were entertained by the sky. The five of us sat on the deck and watched a spectacular thunder and lightning storm. It was truly magnificent!

Going to the Cabin...again!

I'll be away for the next three days. I knitted one scarf in advance and I even figured out how to set my blog so it will automatically post that scarf tomorrow! The rest of the scarves will be knitted on the drive to and from Oroville. Enjoy the long weekend everyone!

Day 217, Scarf 217: Blueberry Patsch

Remember those bruised legs I had the other day from all of the patsching? Well, now my legs look like they have little tiny blueberries all over them! Oh the joy of music education!

Finally a Photo of all the Scarves

7 months of scarves

Day 216, Scarf 216: Sharing is Caring

Today I brought cherries as a snack to my Orff class and I was true to the kindergarten rule: sharing is caring! The colour of this scarf reminds me of those delicious cherries.

Day 215, Scarf 215: Red All Over

No, I didn't get a sunburn...I've been clapping and patsching for 3 days now in my first Masters class and I have actually broken blood vessels in my legs! I guess I'm just a little too excited about what we are doing! It's just so fun that I can't help but patsch loudly!

Day 214, Scarf 214: Raspberries and Chocolate

This scarf is made for my wonderful husband who was kind enough to go out and get me a whopping 50 pounds of raspberries while I was away on Craft Weekend. My new evening snack is frozen raspberries and dark chocolate - delicious!

Day 213, Scarf 213: Blueberry

This tonal blue scarf reminds me of the bowl of blueberries on our table. I watched the blueberries as I chowed down on some homemade mercimek corba (lentil soup in Turkish). After visiting with my friend Izabela today I was feeling a bit nostalgic and wishing I could go back to Turkey and thought I could do the next best thing...make lentil soup!

Day 212, Scarf 212: Seven Month Milestone

July 25th, 2010

Seven months of scarves done! I cannot believe it (yes, I realize I say this every time I reach a monthly milestone). This one is done in shades of green, blue and tan. It reminds me of the colours Max and I saw in the gardens on our evening stroll.

Day 211, Scarf 211: The Ocean

July 24, 2010

This scarf was made on a very full day. We had a bunch of friends over for brunch and then ended up going for a picnic dinner right before the fireworks at English Bay. The ocean-like colours remind me of the ocean that lay before us as we watched the Celebration of Light put on by Spain - amazing.

Day 210, Scarf 210: The American Dollar

This green scarf (like the American dollar) was knitted on the drive across the border with my mom and aunt for some much needed retail therapy at Ross. We had a great time shopping without husbands...there was no pressure to leave!

Day 209, Scarf 209: Watermelon

July 22, 2010

These were the only colours left in my knitting bag when I went to knit today: pink, dark green, light green, and brown. It was obvious that this scarf represented the flesh, rind, and seeds of a watermelon...delicious. It reminds me of the watermelon that we got at the end of our meal when we went to Aoki Sushi with Mo, To, Jessica and Brie!

Day 208, Scarf 208: Celebration of Light

July 21, 2010

This gray with brightly coloured specks scarf was knitted after attending the fireworks with our friends Morgan, Tommy, Jessica, and Brie. Not only did we get to enjoy the spectacular fireworks on display, we also had a man stand directly in front of us and do his `come hither` dance! Oh the sights you can see in Vancouver!

Day 207, Scarf 207: Hot Tamales

July 20, 2010

This scarf is red hot!

Day 206, Scarf 206: Softly Blushing

July 19, 2010

Very pale pink yarn with a little bit of cream...oh so soft and lovely.

Day 205, Scarf 205: K2P2

July 18, 2010

I finally did it! I managed to knit and purl a pattern into a scarf for once. This one was knitted in the car over Craft Weekend which allowed me the time to focus on my knit 2 purl 2 (k2p2). When Max saw this one he said, `I want one like that...just not pink`.

Day 204, Scarf 204: Hot, Hot, Heat

July 17, 2010

This scarf was knitted as we continued our drive to Oroville. The yarn is red hot just like the weather when we stepped out of the car! Yikes! I love air-conditioning.

Day 203, Scarf 203: Flat Tire Fiesta

July 16, 2010

This pink, red and white scarf was knitted in the first 2 hours of our drive to Oroville. We were merrily driving along and grooving to some upbeat salsa music when we felt something under the car. All of a sudden we were bumping up and down and pulling over to the side of the road to see what was wrong. A flat! Diana called BCAA and I took photographs of it and us looking pathetic! Then it was back into the car to wait for BCAA. Turn up the salsa music and knit, knit, knit! It was a flat tire fiesta!

Heading to the cabin for craft weekend!

Just want to let you know that I will be at the cabin for a few days and my yarn and needles are coming with me, yet again! I'll update when I get back. In the meantime, all of the pictures for the month of June are up now...take a peek!

Day 202, Scarf 202: Wavy Newsprint

This furry black and white scarf was knitted with the rest of the yarn left over from my Fuzzy Newsprint scarf. It is so bizaare - the scarf ends up having a thick section, then a thin section, thick again, thin again. What in the world was this yarn originally intended for?

Day 201, Scarf 201: Teddy Grahams

July 14th, 2010

This scarf was knitted with a caramel colour, brown and dark brown. The whole time I was knitting it I was reminded of the teddy grahams my brother and I used to eat as kids. I remember how I would delicately bite of the head or an arm - eating the teddy bit by bit.

Day 200, Scarf 200: Baby Tones

July 13, 2010

This scarf is made with more of the yarn that was donated at Dream Designs. I took all of the baby yarns and mixed them to create "Baby Tones". How is one to make baby yarn appear that it is intended for a grown up?

Day 199, Scarf 199: Fuzzy Smores

This scarf looks remarkably similar to the one made two days ago but I used fuzzy white yarn instead.

Day 198, Scarf 198: Rainbow leftovers - BIV

I had all sorts of bits and pieces left over from making all of the rainbow scarves so I decided to use those leftovers to make another scarf! This one has a very 80s feel to me for some reason.

Day 197, Scarf 197: Smores

July 10, 2010

After sitting around a bonfire at Melissa and Matt's place it was next to impossible not to think about eating smores - especially when Melissa brought out marshmallows for roasting on the fire! Thanks for a great night Melissa and Matt!

Day 196, Scarf 196: Rainbow Addition - Pink

Day 195, Scarf 195: Rainbow Violet
